Movie Marathon

Since I don’t have work schedules since yesterday and that means long, long weekend.. I decided to have movie marathon.. :D

Here are the list of movies I have watched..

Armageddon is a 1998 American science fiction disaster drama film, directed by Michael Bay, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and released by Disney's Touchstone Pictures. The film follows a group of blue-collar deep-core drillers sent by NASA to stop a gigantic asteroid on a collision course with Earth. It features an ensemble cast including Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton, Liv Tyler, Owen Wilson, Will Patton, Peter Stormare, William Fichtner, Michael Clarke Duncan, Keith David and Steve Buscemi. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armageddon_(1998_film)

I already watched this movie years ago but when I saw it on HBO, I can’t stop myself watching it over again. One of the best movies ever!

Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles is a 2012 Filipino comedy action horror film directed by Erik Matti. The film stars Dingdong Dantes, Lovi Poe,Joey Marquez, Janice de Belen, Roi Vinzon and LJ Reyes. The film is produced by Reality Entertainment and AgostoDos Pictures, together with PostManila, Mothership Inc. and GMA Films and released on October 17, 2012. Dingdong Dantes, whose company AgostoDos Pictures also serves as one of the producers, expresses his excitement while making the film. "We're shooting inside the studio and trying to act like there are aswangs coming after us. It's challenging. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiktik:_The_Aswang_Chronicles

Actually, I don’t enjoy the movie that much maybe because of the poor quality of the DVD copy we bought. I find it boring and corny. Sorry!.. :)

This Guy's In Love With U Mare! is a 2012 Filipino comedy film under Star Cinema and Viva Films. It stars Vice Ganda, Luis Manzano and Toni Gonzaga, and it is directed by Wenn V. Deramas. The film received mixed reviews from Filipino critics. The film is about an unlikely love triangle. After Lester (Vice Ganda) catches his boyfriend (Luis Manzano) proposing marriage to Gemma (Toni Gonzaga), it seems as if his whole world comes crashing down. He devises a brilliant plan to keep Gemma away from his ex by making her fall for in love with him. Will Lester emerge victorious and win the heart of his old partner? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Guy's_in_Love_with_U_Mare!

Non-stop laughing with my family while watching it! Ang kulet lang!.. hehe ..

The Vow is a 2012 romantic drama film directed by Michael Sucsy, starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum.[2] The film is based on the true story of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter. It is the final film by Spyglass Entertainment, before MGM takes over. The Vow is based on the actual relationship of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, who wrote a book about their marriage, also known as The Vow. Ten weeks after their wedding on 18 September 1993, the couple was in an automobile accident in which Krickitt suffered brain trauma, which erased memories of her romance with Kim as well as their recent marriage. Kim, however, was still madly in love with his wife, although she viewed him as a stranger after the accident. According to the couple, their faith in Jesus and their wedding vows before God kept them together. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vow_(2012_film)

One of the best dramatic and romantic movies I ever watched. I can’t help myself from crying while watching this. Another must-see movie of Channing Tatum.

if not me, then who would be?..

An excerpt from the book Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen: Halley and Scarlett have been best friends ever since they met. Halley has always been the quiet one; Scarlett braver and more outgoing. Halley has always turned to Scarlett when things get rough, and Scarlett has always known just what to do. It’s the perfect set up. But everything changes at the beginning of their junior year. Scarlett’s boyfriend is killed in a motorcycle accident; then she finds out that she is carrying his baby. For the first time ever, Scarlett really needs Halley. Now Halley has to how to be strong for Scarlett. It won’t be easy, but Halley knows that she can’t let Scarlett down. Because a true friend is a promise you keep forever. ~~ This is definitely not a book review. I think I’m not good at it. I just realized while reading and after finishing it, that I can relate to the character of Halley. I remember when I was a kid, I don’t have a best friend to be called. There’s no kid in my h...

Things about Book Lovers

Some people never understand my fondness on reading a book. I even found myself keeping secret when buying books, making sure the price tag was neatly removed and receipts were put in trash.. it's because I had these feeling some people may not understand me spending money on books when there are more other things to be priorized or more valuable than it. Here are the list I think only book lovers would understand.. We know the uniqueness of a book. We know it will always be different than any other movie adaptation. It's not that we want to criticize those movies, we know that they had put a lot of work for that. They would never understand our disappointment when our expectations wasn't met after watching the movie knowing we had read the book. Having a hard copy.  Nowadays, reading any books you want is so easy thru ebooks, ipad, kindle, etc. I admit, I've been a fan of ebooks for some time, as my budget limits me from buying books most of the time. ...

just some thoughts after ages?..

Oh my!.. it's been ages since the last time I wrote something here in my blog.. haaayz..  These past few weeks, I really had this feeling of missing "blogging".. but then I can't find time alone for my thoughts.. My work schedule now doesn't allow me to have some extra time for doing things I used to do. i remember, when I'm still at my previous work, I have lots time of doings things I want to do like these.. blogging.. reading.. chatting with my friend online.. surfing the net.. everything I want.. even during my work. Like I used to say before, I'm always on the "pethics mode" back there, it's because of the nature of my work. Until one day, I felt like I'm so bored to the point of resigning from my work there and started to find a job where I can be more productive.  Now, I'm almost working for a year here in my new work. I'd like to think if I am successful with what I am looking for when I started to think of leaving m...
