a home of my own

I always dreamed to have my own house and lot. It’s not just a self-fulfillment but also to fulfill the dreams of my parents too. Finally, I’m having my own, and where I can share with my family. Maybe 9 months to 1 year from now, we’ll be transferring to our new home and which we can call our OWN. I can still remember the smile in papa’s face when I told him I already paid the reservation fee for that house. Beginning next month, I will start paying it monthly thru Pag-ibig fund. Actually, it’s not such a big house, just enough for us plus it’s affordable. Anyway, I’m not really fond of big houses since I am a total coward when it comes to ghosts and everything. Hehe .. silly me!

The house and lot I bought was located in Wellington Place, Imus Cavite. I’m familiar with the place because we once lived there a couple of months back in 2009 and we have a few relatives there.

Details:
CELIA MODEL HOUSE 2 STOREY (inner unit)
2 bedrooms, 1 toilet and bath with spacious service area
Floor Area 40 sqm. Lot Area 36 sqm.

Facilities in Wellington Place
Club House – Phase 4
Swimming Pool – Phase 4
Basketball Court – Phase 4
Children’s Playground

my niece ashley daydreaming that this is her own room .. hehe ..

NO GUTS,NO GLORY!!.. true .. If I keep on telling myself that I can’t still afford it as of this moment then nothing will happen, we are the one who makes our dream come true.

So happy and excited!.. I can do it!..

face your fears!!..

Wish I could swim. I am so afraid getting into the water during swimming or outing with friends/family. I get panic right away once I can’t feel anymore the ground of the ocean or pool. So, you can’t imagine how afraid I am before riding the banana boat, knowing that part of the ride is we will be drop in the deeper part of the ocean four times. I pretended to be brave that time since they assured me that it is safe because of the life vest and that it is going to be fun.

picture taking before we ride the banana boat
I really wanted to scream out loud at this moment to release the nervousness instead  I pretended to be brave  and  choose to enjoy. I don't want to miss any single moment in our trip. :)

here we go !!..
I could still remember how fast my heart beats that time and how hard I grip on the handle

after the ride
it's so tiring but I had so much fun!!

have a taste of my kare-kare !.. :D

I love to cook but because of my work, cooking is so infrequent. I don’t have much sleep last night because I was out partying with my college friends and the sun was about to rise when I came home. I don’t know if it’s just a sort of wanting to have a good shot with my parents after partying all night, maybe part of it.. hehe .. but then I decided to be in-charge for our lunch from buying to the market (at my own expense) to cooking . ^_^

So here’s my masterpiece.

Kare-Kare is a traditional Filipino stew (usually ox tail or pork leg) cooked in thick savory peanut sauce and served with bagoong (shrimp paste) on the side.

i forgot to take a picture of the shrimp paste i cooked
got this picture from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bagoong

Actually, I didn’t cook it the usual way. Nowadays, we have lots of instant cooking mix or recipe mix you can buy from the grocery. Thanks to Mama Sita’s Kare-Kare mix, an easy way of cooking.

INGREDIENTS:
1 ½ k Pork Leg
Garlic and onion (sliced)
1 tbsp. cooking oil
2 pouches of Mama Sita’s Kare-Kare mix
3 pcs. Eggplant
1 bundle Sitaw (string beans), cut into 2 inches lengths
1 bundle Petchay
2 small packs of peanuts (crushed)
½ cup Bagoong Alamang (sautéed shrimp paste)

STEPS:

  • Boil pork leg and simmer until meat is tender.
  • Sautéed garlic and onion in oil. Add pork leg and Mama Sita’s Kare-Kare Mix (dissolved in pork leg broth). Add the remaining broth and the crushed peanuts. Stir until sauce thickened.
  • Add eggplant and string beans. Simmer for three minutes. Don’t forget to stir once in a while to prevent the sauce from sticking to the pan.
  • Add petchay and simmer until vegetables are done. Serve with sautéed bagoong.

And.. DONE !!.. :D

Bottomline??.. They all loved it! (as always..choz! :D)
